What is NRG in Loaded Tea?

August 4, 2022 by Erliza Lee Leave a Comment

what is NRG in loaded tea

Nature’s raw guarana (NRG) is a tea with guarana, orange pekoe, and lemon peel. It is one of the ingredients of the Herbalife tea bomb or loaded tea. What is it exactly? What is NRG in loaded? Is it high in caffeine?

Let’s find out here.

What is NRG in Loaded Tea?

As mentioned, NRG tea contains raw guarana, orange pekoe, and lemon peel. It can uplift your mood and increase your mental alertness.

Unlike a cup of Joe, this tea offers a gentle boost in your energy.

It contains 0 calories and approximately 40 mg of caffeine. However, the boost in energy does not lead to jitters.

Is NRG Better Than Caffeine?

NRG tea contains caffeine. It has the same stimulant effects as caffeine. But, in addition to caffeine, this tea also contains theobromine and theophylline.

Guarana and caffeine are similar. But there are differences between these two. It contains caffeine and many other stimulants. In that case, the effects are greater. They also last longer than just drinking caffeine alone.

When you mix it with sugar, the effects are stronger. Unfortunately, there’s no scientific study that offers a better understanding of this tea.

Food manufacturers in the US are adding guarana to many dietary supplements. You can find it in energy drinks to provide drinkers with better energy and alertness.

Because of its effects, you can use it to alleviate your anxiety and improve your memory. It is also useful in your weight loss goal.

Is NRG a Drug?

It is not a drug. Rather, it is a stimulant. Compared to caffeine, guarana’s dried leaves contain up to 4% of caffeine.

Many weight loss supplements or aids contain guarana and it is typically paired with glucomannan.

One of the reasons it is used in many weight loss supplements is its appetite-suppressing ability. But it is related to the caffeine content of this plant.

Who Should Not Take NRG?

Even though Herbalife NRG tea is safe, it may still have some effects. But the effects are the same when you drink coffee. These side effects include the following:

  • Anxiety
  • Upset stomach
  • Restlessness
  • Increased heartbeat

And just like coffee, if you take it every day, you may become dependent on this tea. Then again, not all people experience the same effects.

Although the caffeine content in this tea is at its safest level, you may still be at risk of increased heart rate. It may also increase your blood pressure.

Overdosing yourself with caffeine can lead to convulsions and seizures. Hence, before you even consider this tea, you should talk to your doctor.

And if you are taking any medicines, you must talk to your doctor before you even use guarana supplements.

Does NRG Help Boost Metabolism?

what is NRG in loaded tea -- weight watcher

Increasing metabolism is what every weight watcher wants. There are several things that affect how fast your body can burn calories.

Some people are lucky to have a speedy metabolism, while others don’t. If you are in the latter group, then you might wonder if drinking NRG can help.

It may help boost your metabolism because of its caffeine content. However, you should not depend on this tea alone in increasing your metabolism. Instead, consider building muscles.

People with more muscle have higher resting metabolic rates. It is your body’s ability to burn calories while doing nothing.

For each pound of muscle, it uses 6 calories per day to sustain itself. On the other hand, every pound of fat only burns 2 calories a day.

Even though the difference is just small, it can add up over time.

Step Up Your Workout

Another way to boost your metabolism is to step up your workout. Any aerobic exercise can rev up your metabolism hours after a workout. The main thing here is to push yourself. Choose high-intensity exercise because it delivers a longer rise in your resting metabolic rate.

You may also try an intense class or add short bursts of jogging to your regular walk.

Drink Water

Don’t forget to drink water.

To process calories, your body requires water. Dehydration may slow down your metabolism. Those who drink more than eight glasses of water each day burn more calories than those who are drinking less than four glasses.

Unfortunately, because of our busy lifestyle, we tend to forget to drink water. If you are that type of person who is extremely busy you can’t remember drinking water, then make Hidrate Spark your BFF.

Hidrate Spark is a bottle that will remind you to drink your water. Its “glow” can be customized. For instance, you can change its color, type, and frequency through its free HidrateSpark app.

With Hidrate Spark, you can keep your daily goal updated as you go. If it is time for you to drink, the LED smart sensor of this bottle will glow.

You may also choose to add tea or any unsweetened beverage.

Snack on Fresh Fruits and Not Chips

Choose to snack on fresh fruits, instead of pretzels or chips.

It is also vital to snack smart. Eating large meals with hours in between may only slow down your metabolism. Instead, opt for a small meal every three to four hours. It can help in keeping your metabolism cranking.

Spicing up your meals will also help. Adding chili to your meals can help kick your metabolism. But the effects are temporary. However, if you eat spicy foods often, the benefits can easily add up.

Boost your protein to help your body burn more calories. Replace your carbs with protein-rich foods to boost your metabolism.

Good sources of protein include tofu, nuts, eggs, and beans, among others.

Does NRG Affect the Liver?

As mentioned, NRG tea is safe. However, if you drink it in excess, it may affect your liver. In low-to-moderate doses, NRG has an excellent safety profile.

But just like drinking coffee excessively, you may experience the following side effects, such as insomnia, headaches, and other caffeine-related effects.

Although it is safe to drink every day, it may still lead to dependency in high doses. You should avoid it if you are pregnant.

Caffeine is not safe because it can cross the placenta. It is an issue because it may affect the growth of your unborn child. It also increases your risk of miscarriage.

As long as you stay within the low doses of 50 to 75 mg, you can reap the benefits of this tea.
