Many herbalists recommend the use of raspberry herbal tea during the last trimester to help tone your womb muscles so they become ready for labor. The idea here is that this herbal tea ease strain.

Unfortunately, there’s no scientific evidence that raspberry herbal tea will induce labor. However, it’s possible that when you consume a lot of this tea at once could cause intense contractions.

Furthermore, drinking a lot of this tea will make you feel sick. It will also cause diarrhea. That said, you should avoid drinking a lot of this tea in one go.

What are the Benefits of Drinking Raspberry Herbal Tea? 

Strengthen Uterine Muscle Thereby Improving Uterine Health 

Although there’s no scientific evidence, this tea is said to improve blood flow to the uterus. It can also strengthen uterine muscle fibers. Thus, during labor, it eases contractions and pain.

Shorten Labor

It’s possible that this tea may shorten labor. It may also lower the need to use forceps as labor intervention.

In a small study, researchers found that women who consumed raspberry herbal tea while pregnant were less likely to require a C-section.

Reduce Pre-Term and Post-Term birth 

A study that involved women found that those who consumed raspberry herbal teal were likely to give birth closer to their due date.

Improve Morning Sickness

Some midwives would advise pregnant women to drink raspberry herbal tea to reduce their morning sickness. However, you may want to avoid it during the first trimester.

How Safe Is Raspberry Herbal Tea During Pregnancy?

As mentioned, there’s no scientific proof that raspberry herbal tea can induce labor. It’s also not known whether it’s completely safe during pregnancy.

On the other hand, if you want to drink it, you may want to start until 32 weeks of pregnancy. Furthermore, you must drink it in moderation.

If you do take it during the early stage of your pregnancy, it may cause a miscarriage.

This tea may also worsen your condition if you suffer from gestational diabetes.

Should You Try Drinking Raspberry Herbal Tea to Help with Labor? 

Before you try drinking this tea, make sure to talk to your healthcare provider. This tea contains chemicals that may or may not help your pregnancy.

Since studies about this tea are insufficient, it’s not known whether or not it is completely safe during pregnancy.

It may or may not be safe for you and your unborn child.

Even if it is safe during pregnancy, consider drinking it a low dose.
