Can Loaded Tea Cause Diarrhea?

May 31, 2022 by Jane Danes Leave a Comment

can loaded tea cause diarrhea

Loaded tea is a brightly-colored tea touted to boost energy, burn fat, and speed up your metabolism. It’s said to be low in calories. Because of its content, many are wondering if it can upset your digestion. Can loaded tea cause diarrhea?

Let’s find out here.

Can Loaded Tea Cause Diarrhea?

Bahama Mama and Captain Marvel. These are the striking flavors of a loaded tea. It offers enticing benefits, ranging from improved energy to faster metabolism to weight loss.

One of the worries about this tea is its effects on your digestion. Because of its caffeine content, it might cause diarrhea in others.

Why?

It may cause diarrhea because of the caffeine content. Caffeine is a known stimulant.

By that, it means it can increase gut mobility. The stimulating effect can lead to loose stools that can contribute to dehydration.

Caffeine is also a diuretic. Thus, it increases your urine output. It also causes anxiety and jitteriness and may worsen your IBS and IBD.

The FDA recommends drinking up to 400 mg of caffeine per day. However, every person has his/her own level of caffeine sensitivity.

For instance, your friend can tolerate more than 500 grams of caffeine, but you can only tolerate 200 mg of caffeine.

Consuming more caffeine can cause tachycardia, vomiting, and seizures.

However, since you make loaded tea at home, you can customize the caffeine content. Instead of adding a teaspoon of Herbalife tea, you can just add half a teaspoon of it.

Then, for LiftOff, you can use half a serving.

Can Loaded Teas Cause Stomach Problems?

They may cause stomach problems for those sensitive to caffeine. As mentioned, caffeine is a stimulant, and it can cause diarrhea if you drink too much of it.

Because you can make your own version of loaded tea, you can simply add or remove ingredients that you like or don’t like.

You can choose to add aloe water and sugar-free syrups.

Loaded teas are like an energy drink. They are known as tea because healthy people drink tea.

It’s important to note that Herbalife didn’t create this idea of loaded tea. However, many of its distributors are making them in their respective nutrition clubs.

When it comes to the safety of these teas, they are generally safe as long as you are not too sensitive to caffeine.

It’s like drinking Herbalife Concentrate Tea in the morning, NRG tea in the afternoon, and LiftOff before working out. The only difference is that you add these ingredients to one drink.

These loaded teas are full of nutrients and vitamins. But this is not the part of this beverage that nutritionists are concerned about. Rather, it’s the stimulants in the tea.

For many nutritionists, the mixture of different teas and stimulants can be harmful to the cardiovascular system.

You may complain of headaches, jitters, and digestive issues after drinking loaded tea.

However, if you don’t want to experience these side effects, you should customize the servings of each ingredient. As mentioned, you can create this tea at home so you can control how much you add to the drink.

How Many Loaded Teas Can You Drink a Day?

Because of the stimulants present in this tea, you might want to limit your consumption to one loaded tea a day.

And make sure that you drink it a few hours before your sleep time. Otherwise, you’ll find yourself not able to sleep at night because of the caffeine content.

You may also drink half the drink and save the other half for the next day. Or you can just reduce the serving of every ingredient.

For instance, you can just add half a serving of Herbalife tea concentrate and another half of NRG. You may also choose not to add LiftOff.

If you really wish to try this out, though, make sure to talk to a nutritionist.

Also, you should not drink this tea if you are highly sensitive to caffeine. You may, however, try it once a week.

Do Loaded Teas Make You Gain Weight?

We don’t think they can make you gain weight. After all, they are low in calories. Furthermore, they are full of stimulants.

However, they may still cause weight gain if you continue to eat more calories than you burn. Keep in mind that overconsuming calories can indeed cause weight gain.

What you can do to prevent weight gain is to increase your daily activities. You should exercise for at least 30 minutes every day.

You should also try fasting, like intermittent fasting. There are different types of IFs.

You can opt for 16/8 or 16 hours of fasting and 8 hours eating period. OMAD is a popular form of intermittent fasting, but it’s also the most extreme. With this type of IF, you can only eat for one hour. And for 23 hours, you will be fasting.

But even if you fast, you still need to be mindful of what you eat or your calories. Calorie intake will still count even though you are fasting.

Keep in mind that even if you fast for 23 hours but you consume more calories than your body burns, you still won’t lose weight. Weight loss isn’t just about the stimulants you drink; it’s about understanding why and when you eat. To help you stay in tune with your body’s true needs while fasting or using loaded teas, check out our Mindful Eating Guide. It’s the perfect companion to help you distinguish between real hunger and a caffeine-induced craving.

How Much Caffeine is in a Herbalife Loaded Tea?

Depending on what you eat, loaded tea can have over 160 mg of caffeine. It means that the amount is twice the caffeine in a cup of coffee.

Then again, you can control the caffeine content by reducing the serving of each ingredient that you mix in the tea.

If you are highly sensitive to caffeine, make sure to drink this tea a few hours before your bedtime, preferably before lunch. In this way, it won’t interfere with your sleep.

However, if you don’t have a problem with caffeine, you may drink this tea after lunch. Then again, you should not drink it every day.

It’s like an energy drink. It may be harmful to you, considering all the stimulants present in this tea.

Summary

Can loaded tea cause diarrhea? It may cause digestive issues because of the stimulant present in this drink. That’s why you should reduce the serving of each ingredient you add. You can add half of it and half of that.
