Benefits of Zumba FitnessI didn’t go to a Zumba class. Rather, I just purchased Zumba Fitness DVD to try it out.
When I first played the DVD, I witnessed that Berto, the creator of Zumba, was full of vigor making me feel thrilled too. Unlike Zumba classes, my room wasn’t packed with other fitness enthusiasts. It was just me and my dog. But Berto and his companions (instructors) were inspiring and motivating that I had no choice but to get up and start shaking my hips to Latin and hip-hop beats.
I thought Zumba fitness was a lame program. But I was wrong.
After the session ended, I was sweating profusely and smiling like an idiot. From there, I realized that dancing could be fun, productive and useful in burning calories.
That’s why, it has become a part of my exercise routine. When I get bored of jogging/running, swimming and playing badminton/tennis, I turn to Zumba.
Zumba Fitness DVD
One of the DVDs of Zumba that I have in my possession is Sculpt. It features a 45-minute session of fun workout.
Zumba Sculpt includes hip-hop, salsa, cumbia (for triceps and biceps), belly dancing (targets the core and back), samba, flamenco, reggaeton, and African beats.

The amount of workouts is impressive. And the dances featured are exceptional. At the end of the session, you’ll feel like you’re ready to dance to different Latin beats and show your moves to Ricky Martin or Enrique Iglesias.
Easy to learn
The DVD includes Learn It version. In this part, you will have Tanya and other instructors to teach you step-by-step on how to carry out salsa, flamenco, etc.
Each beat is of high-energy, thereby, boosting your interest and oomph to complete the entire session.
Motivates to move
Each step is fun so you will be motivated to try it out and start dancing.
Should you opt for DVD or Zumba class?
If you have time to go to a Zumba class and join a group of enthusiasts, then a Zumba class can be a better option. However, if you love to dance but only at the privacy of your own home, then grabbing the Zumba DVD is a better choice.
Zumba is fun. This is great if you want your workout to be more like a party than a chore.
Is it great for weight loss?
Definitely. A 45-minute Zumba session can already help you burn around 300 calories.
After each session, you’ll feel great and full of energy. But because it burns hundreds of calories, you need to rehydrate yourself during and after working out. I drink water (or protein shake) after each dance. It’s a great workout for beginners, intermediate and advanced exercisers.
