Pilates, on the other hand, is a younger practice that started in the mid-20th century by Joseph Pilates. What makes it popular is the involvement of dance.

The goal of yoga is to keep you strong and supple through those strengthening and stretching movements. The postures involve conditioning the body while the breathing exercises aimed to calm the mind.
