Vegetarian Linked to Weight Loss and 20 Hollywood Stars Who Embrace Vegetarian and Vegan Diet

A vegetarian diet is linked to weight loss. For that reason, most vegetarians are thinner than you. There’s a valid explanation to it. In a new research, it showed that a plant-based diet is said to be the most effective way to shed some pounds.

Vegetarians Dropped Significant Amount of Weight

In a study conducted by Brie Turner-McGrievy, Ph.D., she followed people who were vegan and omnivorous for eight weights. These people stuck to low GI index and low-fat foods. They didn’t lower their calorie intake.

    What Was the Result?

They lost an average weight of 8.2 to 9.9 pounds. Those who were meat-eaters, on the other hand, dropped only an average of 5.1 pounds.

Two months after the study was conducted, vegans reported losing more weight than meat-eaters.

Vegan Diet is Low in Fat

Unlike an omnivorous diet, a vegan diet is very low in fat so it’s expected that vegans shed more pounds.

The study didn’t just show how a vegetarian diet is linked to weight loss. It also revealed that it’s better to restrict certain foods, rather than calories.

Some dieters find it very liberating to go on a diet that allows them to eat until they’re full without monitoring their calorie intake.

A vegetarian diet can be sustainable in the long term, as long as you became a vegan for social reasons and not just to lose weight.

However, if you’re planning to go on a vegan diet, you should pay attention to your protein intake. You need around 54 grams of protein each day if you’re a 150-pound person.

    Adele Has slimmed Down

Rumor has it that the real reason of Adele’s weight loss is her strict vegetarian diet. Although she hasn’t confirmed it yet, going vegan could probably be the most effective way for you to lose weight. But it would only give you positive results if you do it right.
