    ways to deal with anxiety.

Generalized anxiety disorder is not good for your health. It causes your heart to beat faster and it makes your blood sticker.

It also heightens your risk of developing a heart condition, heart attack or stroke. If you are prone to anxiety, consider these strategies to help you stay calm.

How to Deal with Anxiety and Prevent Generalized Anxiety Disorder

    Exercise by walking

To help you feel good, you need the feel-good hormones to be released from your system. And to do so, you need to exercise. During exercise, the neurotransmitter known as GABA is released. In some studies, people with anxiety disorder have low levels of this neurotransmitter.

Researchers also find that yoga and walking for at least 30 minutes can boost GABA levels.

That said, consider taking a walk every day to give yourself a natural medication.

    Communicate with other people

You may choose to talk to your friends.

However, it is ideal to just to talk to a trained therapist who deals with cognitive behavioral therapy. It is a type of therapy that teaches you to separate worry from reality. It also puts your fears into a new, better perspective.

Talking to a therapist is better than taking a medication. It may also prevent a full-blown generalized anxiety disorder.

    Practicing breathing calmly

Hyperventilation is one of the symptoms of an anxiety attack. Short breaths will prevent the proper release of carbon dioxide from your lungs.

When there is carbon dioxide buildup, there is insufficient room in your lungs for fresh oxygen. As a result, you will feel dizzy. Lightheadedness will also occur.

Practice breathing properly to stop the release of stress hormones that cause hyperventilation. You may attend a class in relaxation as well. Talk to your doctor about it.

Or you can just try focusing on your breathing when you are feeling anxious. Take a deep breath slowly. Watch your stomach inflate. Then, hold your breath for a few seconds before letting it out. Repeat it several times.

    Take Kava

It is an herb that can help you calm down. But before taking this supplement, make sure to check with your doctor first. This herb can interfere with how your body metabolizes medications. If you take it in a large amount, it can lead to liver damage.

    Drink tea

Drinking tea is already calming. People who sip tea every day recovered faster when they are in a stressful situation. Tea drinkers have lower stress hormones in the body. Tea has tons of powerful antioxidants that can help on how to deal with anxiety.

    Use brewer’s yeasts

It contains a high amount of biotin. Supplementing yourself with biotin can help in reducing the anxiety levels and frequency of panic attacks.

To stop attacks altogether, make sure to take a B-vitamin supplement containing biotin. Make sure that the vitamin has up to 12 grams of biotin to ensure effectiveness in preventing generalized anxiety disorder.

    Take fish oil

Fish oil can relieve depression. It reduces stress. If you are taking at least 3 grams of fish oil, you will feel less stressed. However, before upping your fish oil intake, make sure that you consult with your doctor first.

    Avoid sugar

When you are stressed, you may likely to eat sugary foods. However, they can do more harm than good. Eating a lot of sugar can heighten your anxiety.

Thus, when you feel anxious, try to drink a glass of water. Or you must choose to consume a lot of protein. It gives you slow energy that your body can use to help you recover.

Watch Mr. Bean (or any funny video)

Admit it, Mr. Bean is funny, whether you are watching the TV series or the movie. Instead of watching Riverdale or those movies that stimulate loneliness, you should go watch a funny TV show. Laughing is great for your anxious mind.

Laugher offers tons of benefits for your mental health. Humor could reduce anxiety as much as exercise.

If you are done watching Mr. Bean, try the Big Bang Theory. It may not make you laugh but it will help you smile and forget about your worries.

Signs and Symptoms of Generalized Anxiety Disorder

    You worry too much.

Excessive worrying can be disruptive. The worrying must occur on most days for six months and it is difficult to control.

Although we worry a lot, generalized anxiety disorder causes severe worrying to the point that it has become difficult to focus or accomplish your day-to-day tasks.

    You feel agitated.

When you are anxious, your system goes into overdrive. It causes several effects throughout the body resulting in you experiencing sweaty palms, shaky hands or racing pulse, among others.

These are symptoms that may occur because your brain thinks that you are in danger. Thus, it prepares your body to react to the threat.

When that happens, your body moves blood away from your digestive system and to your muscles so you can run or fight. It heightens your heart rate and senses.

In a true threat, these effects are helpful. But if you have a generalized anxiety disorder, the effects can be debilitating. Some patients cannot reduce their arousal levels quickly. In that case, they feel the effects for a lot longer.

    You feel restless.

It is a common symptom if you have a generalized anxiety disorder. Restlessness is defined as the feeling that you are on edge. You will have an uncomfortable urge to move.

This symptom does not occur to all people with this condition. However, it is a symptom that doctors are looking for when they make a diagnosis.

    You feel fatigued.

Becoming easily fatigued can be a symptom of a generalized anxiety disorder. It is a symptom that is uncommon to some patients because anxiety is typically associated with arousal or hyperactivity.

In some cases, fatigue follows an anxiety attack. Other patients experience chronic fatigue. However, it unclear whether or not fatigue is the result of other anxiety symptoms, like muscle tension or insomnia.

Fatigue can also be a symptom of depression and other health conditions. In that case, if you have this symptom, your doctor may need to find other symptoms to justify that you are having a generalized anxiety disorder.

Generalized anxiety disorder can disrupt your quality of life. Make sure to know how to deal with anxiety naturally by following those points above.
