Why you should include green smoothies to your diet? (And find out how you can get Herbalife Shaker for free)
Even though we have plenty of fruits and vegetables around us, it’s still difficult to fit them into our diet. This is especially true for people working 8 hours a day. They can’t easily obtain 3 servings of vegetables or fruits each day. And that’s so sad.
Enter green smoothies. They can simplify our healthy eating. As long as you have a blender at home, you can easily make green smoothies to obtain the recommended daily amount of 3 to 4 cups of vegetables.
Here are some reasons why you must opt for green smoothies:
They’re easy to prepare. All you have to do is add those fruits and vegetables into your blender and press the button. You may choose to “blend” or “liquefy” them.
Yes, they’re a delicious treat. Cucumber and banana are my favorite duo. Although I haven’t tried pairing spinach with avocado, I’ve heard they can make a delicious treat. Sadly, I’m not a big fan of spinach.
If you want a great-tasting green smoothie, you should combine your favorite fruits and vegetables. Then, don’t forget to add protein powder into the mixture. This is to give you satiety.
Apart from the fact that green smoothies are easy to prepare, they’re also fast to make. In fact, I’d consider them as the ultimate fast food as I could already have green smoothie within 2 minutes (although sometimes I blend the ingredients more than 2 minutes to create better consistency).
How should you get started on making green smoothies?
To help you get started, you can opt to follow recipes. The possibilities of green smoothies are endless. You can go to Dr. Oz’s website and you’ll be bombarded with tried and true green smoothies recipes. But Blendtec’s green smoothie recipes are my favorite, especially the green pineapple paradise.
Stack them properly
If you want well-blended green smoothies, you must make sure that you pour in liquids first, then solid ones. If there’s a need for you to add frozen items, you must add them first before you put in the green veggies.
Avoid adding everything
Don’t overwhelm yourself at first by adding several green ingredients that you can find. You can start with banana and cucumber. Then, work your way up. As soon as your palate has developed a likeness to such treat, it’ll be a lot easier for you to take in different types of green smoothies.
Add frozen fruits
Frozen fruits are beneficial as you can avoid adding ice or cut down the need of ice to your smoothies. My favorite frozen fruit is banana. Make sure that you cut them into pieces before freezing them.
How about leftovers?
I’m not a big fan of green smoothie leftovers so I only make one glass of it and consume it right away. However, green smoothies can be stored in a fridge and let them stay there for two days. They’re great to be taken in the morning when you don’t have time to prepare.
Can green smoothies assist in weight loss?
They CAN HELP you achieve your weight loss goal as they can assist in reducing your calorie intake. However, you must not only consume green smoothies in an attempt to lose weight. Make sure that you also eat solid foods each day.
If you want to stay full longer, you should add protein powder. Although the veggies in the smoothie already contain fiber, protein can make you feel fuller for longer periods of time.
